LEAGUE CITY — A suspected identity thief was indicted this week on allegations he fraudulently used the bank account numbers of 10 Galveston County residents to make purchases.

John Lindsey Follis, 33, of Houston, was arrested last week after a joint investigation by the League City, Galveston and Friendswood police departments, according to a news release.

Follis has been charged with fraudulent use or possession of identifying information. He faces two to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Follis was previously convicted of assaulting a public servant in Harris County in 2004, according to court records.

He remained at the Galveston County Jail on a $250,000 bond Friday.
