WEBSTER — Police were led on a wild high-speed chase Friday morning. Police responded to a car burglary call at the Academy Sporting Goods store at NASA Parkway and Interstate 45 at about 9:23 a.m.
When police found a white truck believed to be driven by the burglary suspect, the driver took off leading officers on a lengthy chase that at times reached 100 mph. During the pursuit the driver crashed into several vehicles, police said. A driver who was struck at an intersection in Missouri City was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The 24-minute chase ended in the northbound lanes of Highway 288 just north of Beltway 8 in Houston. The driver pulled into a grassy area and jumped out of the truck with his hands in the air. He was then taken into custody.
Webster police did not release the name of the burglary suspect and said charges are pending.
