GALVESTON — A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew flew the captain of a fishing boat to the hospital after he injured his arm authorities said Tuesday.

The crew flew Francisco Desor 29 who was 109 miles off the coast of Galveston in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Coast Guard command center received a 3 p.m. call Monday reporting Desor suffered injuries to his left arm from a winch.

The crew hoisted Desor to the helicopter and flew him to the University of Texas Medical Branch for treatment.
