BOLIVAR PENINSULA — Deputies made 45 arrests and issued 124 citations on the Bolivar Peninsula during the Independence Day holiday, authorities said Wednesday.

Most of the arrests involved minors in possession of alcohol, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, assault, reckless driving and drug possession, Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset said.

A girl, 14, reported missing July 4 from the beach was found alive the next morning beneath a vacant house. She had only small scratches and cuts to her legs from walking through high grass and dunes. She was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for evaluation, Trochesset said.
