GALVESTON — A man who prosecutors said kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman at his home in unincorporated Dickinson was sentenced Thursday to 20 years in prison.

Howard Martin Harris, 56, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping.

Prosecutors said Harris was friends with the 29-year-old woman he kept at his home for more than two hours and sexually assaulted on July 11, 2012.

The woman escaped and fled to the nearby Dickinson Police Department, according to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office.
