LEAGUE CITY – A driver was arrested Sunday after her car struck a gas pump, throwing a woman who police said was riding on the hood of the vehicle onto the concrete.

Ashley Ainsworth, 27, was charged with deadly conduct after the collision at the ExxonMobil gas station at 5651 FM 646.

A vehicle headed south on FM 646 turned into the parking lot of the gas station before striking a steel pole, colliding with a gas pump then stopping on the south side of the parking lot, according to a police crash report.

A 32-year-old woman was “launched off the vehicle,” according to the report, and transported to the Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster. Police did not know the woman’s medical condition Monday.

Why is someone riding on the hood of the car? At 27 and 32 y'all ought to know better.

We need more information to determine whether they both suffer from acute stupidity, or chronic stupidity...
