LEAGUE CITY —  Six volunteers in League City’s “Volunteers In Policing” program were recognized Tuesday night for their work with the city’s police department.

Tom Stagg, Ray Elam, John Paul, Shari Ferguson, Bill Keogh and Jack Compton have volunteered more than 2,500 hours during the last year, officer Reagan Pena said.

To achieve “intermediate” status in the program, the six volunteers were required to volunteer more than 100 active hours, take one advanced training course and spend a year volunteering with the police department.

The program includes graduates from the League City Police Department Citizen Police Academy.
