SANTA FE — A 68-year-old man died, apparently from a heart attack, while trimming trees in his yard Saturday.
At about 1:20 p.m. emergency responders from Santa Fe Fire and Rescue were called to a house in the 5300 block of County Road 154, which is at the Brazoria County line. A man riding a four-wheeler in the area came upon a man lying in a ditch, Fire Chief Tommy Anderson said.
The man still had a hedge trimmer in his hand. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials did not release the man’s name.
There was no indication that he had been injured by the trimmer or had fallen from a great height, Anderson said.
An autopsy was pending to confirm the cause of death.
