Sheriff’s deputies made more than 30 arrests and issued 140 citations during the course of 10 days during spring break on the Bolivar Peninsula, according to a news release from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

Charges filed in the 30 arrests include public intoxication, evading arrest and assault. A large number of citations were issued to minors in possession of an alcoholic beverage, as well as citations for glass containers and open containers in a vehicle, according to the news release.

Additional deputies patrol the Bolivar Peninsula from March through Labor Day, when the peninsula sees an influx of visitors.
