GALVESTON — Police are searching for two men accused of holding a clerk at gunpoint while robbing a Galveston convenience store Thursday night.

Two men walked into the One Stop Food Mart, 1902 45th St., shortly before 10 p.m., police Sgt. Joshua Schirard said in a news release.

One of the men held a clerk at gunpoint, and the suspected robbers fled with $400 to $500 from the cash register, Schirard said.

A witness told police the men drove away in a gray Dodge Charger.

Witnesses described the robbers as two black men between the ages of 18 to 25, Schirard said.

The man who held the handgun is described as being about 5-foot-7-inches with a slender build. He was wearing a white shirt and light blue shorts.

The other man is about 5-foot-10-inches and about 175 pounds, Schirard said.

Anyone with information that may help identify the suspected robbers is asked to call 409-765-3792.
