GALVESTON — A Galveston woman was charged  with drunken driving and evading arrest after leading police on a short car chase Saturday night.

At about 7:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Broadway for a hit-and-run accident, police said.

Later, another hit-and-run was reported with a vehicle of the same description, a blue PT Cruiser, in the 4000 block of Avenue Q, police said.

Officers found the blue PT Cruiser a couple of blocks west of the second accident and tried to stop the driver. The suspect, however, began to evade the officers, who chased the car for about 15 blocks.

Ramona Cierra, 53, was arrested and charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and with driving while intoxicated police said. Her bond was set at $15,000.

Both hit-and-runs were reported as minor accidents, and no one was injured, police said.

It is a little late in life to be making such stupid mistakes. Bet the slammer is close for this one.
