FRIENDSWOOD — A regional Amber Alert was lifted Thursday after police found a missing 16-year-old Friendswood girl and took her father into custody, authorities said.

Jassmine Fulcher was found safe with her father, Jackie Fulcher, 36, in Liberty County shortly before 4 p.m., Friendswood police spokeswoman Lisa Price said.

Officials suspect Jassmine Fulcher may have been abducted May 23 by her father, a Shepherd man who does not have legal custody of his daughter, Price said.

Jackie Fulcher had prior warrants issued for his arrest, including a warrant on a charge of sexual assault of a child, Price said. The circumstances of his arrest Thursday were unclear, and Price said she did not know whether the man would face new charges.

The teen, who was initially reported as a runaway, was released into the custody of her mother, Price said.
