FRIENDSWOOD — Police are looking for a man accused of kicking in the front door of a Friendswood house before fleeing from the homeowner Monday morning.

The homeowner told police there was a knock at the door of the house in the 1200 block of Verdun Lane shortly before 10 a.m., according to a news release from the Friendswood Police Department.

The door was then kicked in by a 19- or 20-year-old black man who was wearing sunglasses on his head, a black shirt and blue jeans, according to police.

Nothing was stolen, and the man drove away in a black 4-door sedan.

"Why kick in a door, then flee?"
Conjecture: Theft. He knocks on the door. No one comes immediately to the door so he assumes no one is home. He proceeds to kick in the door and then confronts the homeowner who was slow in answering the knock. Not knowing if the homeowner is armed as any good native Texan should be, the man flees, police are called. [beam]
