GALVESTON — Two people were detained Thursday afternoon when police responded to a report of gunshots on Ferry Road.

A section of the road was shut down just after 4 p.m. as police responded to a call made from residents in the 500 block Ferry Road. The residents said a neighbor had fired a shot into their home.

When police arrived, a man and a woman were outside a nearby house also on Ferry Road, where the shots reportedly came from, a Galveston Police Department spokesman said. Those two people were detained, the spokesman said.

A police dog was used to search the home for additional suspects. No one was found, but police did discover at least two guns in the home.

No one was injured.

Police have responded to calls at the addresses before, the spokesman said.

No charges had been filed Thursday afternoon.
