FRIENDSWOOD — A police pursuit ended early Sunday after a Houston man’s car ran out of gas just north of the Galveston Causeway.

A Friendswood officer attempted to pull over Kerry Danita Adams, 33, for speeding in the 100 block of East Parkwood Avenue early Sunday, according to a Friendswood police news release.

Adams drove south on Interstate 45, and when his vehicle ran out of gas near the Galveston Causeway, he fled on foot, police said.

Adams was detained and charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle, evading arrest on foot, possession of marijuana and driving with an invalid license. His bond was set at $78,500.

It takes a special kind of stupid to try to lead a police chase to an island. While almost out of gas.

Well, maybe he thought since he was going to run out of gas, he could end the chase while enjoying some coastal scenery at the same time.
