SANTA FE — Last year, school district officials approved a plan to move school board elections to every other year in November. With five trustee positions up for election this year, a drawing must be held to determine the length of the terms of office.

Four of the board positions will become four-year terms, while the fifth will be a two-year term that will become a four-year term in the 2016 elections.

Positions 1 and 2 will also be up for election in two years.

Trustee Positions 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 will be part of the drawing. The July 21 drawing will only determine the terms of office.

The filing period to run for election is July 19 to Aug. 18.
