LEAGUE CITY — Two positions on the Clear Creek school board will be up for election on May 11.

The slots are for District 1, which is held by Robert Davee and Ann Hammond’s At-Large Position B seat.

Hammond has been a trustee for six years, and she has no desire to step down.

“I plan to run again as we have a highly functioning board that gets along and challenges the administration to excel in educating our children,” she said.

The first day to file for a position on the ballot is Wednesday. The filing window closes March 1.

Early voting will be held April 29-May 7 at:

• Clear Creek Intermediate School, 2451 East Main St., League City

• Clear Lake Ninth Grade Center, 2903 Falcon Pass, Houston

• Clear Brook High School, 4607 FM 2351, Friendswood

Kind of odd that the reporter failed to mention the other candidates but I am also running for CCISD school board. My name is Nick Long and I invite all voters to check out my website www.votenicklong.com

From what I see, the article was posted before the filing period began. I think it would have requires amazing perception, and premonition, for the reporter to know who all of the opposing candidates are a few days prior to the start of filing.

I hope that not looking at record dates prior to making snap judgements is not typical behavior for board candidates.
