LEAGUE CITY — City officials are hoping for better turnout Thursday for the second in a series of City Hall in the Park meetings.
The brainchildren of City Manager Mark Rohr, the monthly meetings are designed to give residents within specific communities more access to city officials. That includes utility staffers, people who work in the parks department, police and so forth.
Rohr also attends the sessions.
The first such meeting was held last month at Countryside Park with only about 15 people attending.
It is hoped that by having Thursday’s session in League Park, which is in the heart of the city and has easier public access, there will be bigger crowds.
Rohr said the meetings are an outreach program offering residents opportunities to ask questions about city services or make suggestions about improving service.
There are two more City Hall in the Park sessions planned next month at Hometown Heroes Park and Magnolia Creek Country Club in August.
