BAYOU VISTA — A woman in her 30s was uninjured after she lost control and flipped her car on Interstate 45 near Bayou Vista.

The driver was headed north in a small Honda four-door sedan around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when she overcorrected to avoid a piece of debris on the 500 block of Interstate 45, La Marque Police Sgt. Gilbert Rodriguez said.

She lost control and skidded sideways across the interstate from the left lane to the right lane. When she hit the guardrail in the grassy area between the highway and the feeder road, the car flipped and landed on its roof, he said.

“The car was damaged pretty heavily,” Rodriguez said.

The driver suffered no injuries, he said.

The right lane of the highway and the feeder road was closed for about 10 minutes while emergency personal responded to the accident, he said.
