LEAGUE CITY — A Sugar Land man pleaded guilty Monday to leasing out a League City home he did not own in 2012.

Kenneth Lamonte Upchurch, 44, did not have a license from the Texas Real Estate Commission or the homeowner’s permission to lease a house in the Victory Lakes subdivision in 2012, prosecutors said.

League City police told renters to vacate the house, and Upchurch was arrested in May 2012.

Upchurch will serve 30 days in the Galveston County Jail for pleading guilty to engaging in activity without the required certificate or license.

Upchurch also faces a felony charge of securing execution of a document by deception in Brazoria County.
