GALVESTON — Three people from Cincinnati were arrested in connection with the robbery of a Galveston convenience store Friday.

Aric Davis, 22; Michael Edmondson, 24; and Morgan Williams, 22, were charged with the aggravated robbery of the Lucky Way Food Store, 3802 Cove View Blvd.

According to police, two black men held the clerk at gunpoint late Friday night and demanded money from the cash register.

The clerk said he recognized the men, who had come into the store the night before with a woman and left in a white U-Haul truck, police said.

As officers were en route to the scene, they saw a U-Haul truck matching the clerk’s description with a woman sitting in the driver’s seat in the 9500 block of Seawall Boulevard, police said.

Officers searching the truck found a Nebraska driver’s license belonging to one of the suspects, police said. The clerk, who was brought to the traffic stop, said the man in the driver’s license photo was one of the men who had just robbed the store, police said.

During the traffic stop, the woman received a call from the two suspects, police said.

At 2 a.m. another officer reported he found the suspects at the 7500 block of Stewart Road, police said.

The officer arrested one suspect, but the second fled on foot into the By the Sea Condos, police said. Police set up a perimeter and searched the area with a police dog, which located the second suspect.

All three are in custody at the Galveston County jail, police said. Williams is being held on an $85,000 bond; Davis is being held on an $80,000 bond and Edmondson is being held on an $80,000 bond.
