BACLIFF — Deputies arrested three game room employees and seized $30,000 in cash and 110 8-liner machines during simultaneous Friday morning raids in Bacliff, authorities said.
Investigators arrested Guadalupe Garcia, 59, Amanda Lea Bell, 35, and Tiffany Dominy, 31, all of Bacliff, on felony charges of engaging in organized criminal activity, Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset said in a statement.
Deputies, constables and prosecutors served warrants about 11 a.m. at two Bacliff game rooms, Lucky Spin in the 4800 block of state Highway 146 and Buck or Two in the 1100 block of Grand Avenue.
Both businesses were under investigation for several months amid allegations of illegal gambling.
Bond for Dominy, who was already incarcerated at the county jail on an unrelated charge, was set at $35,000. Bond for Garcia was set at $5,000, and Bell had her bond set at $2,000, Trochesset said.
“The customers in these two locations were questioned and issued subpoenas by sheriff’s office investigators and prosecutors with the district attorney’s office to give testimony before a Galveston County grand jury,” Trochesset said.
