Seems like our elected leaders have jumped the gun and voted to keep the tax rate the same without hearing from the citizens of La Marque. The voters that elected you are your boss. You work for them. Twenty dollars may not sound like much to you, but to a person or family on a fixed income it can make a lot difference. The citizens of La Marque should not need to sign a petition to bring it to a vote. The Council voted to keep the rate the same, the Council should be able to resend that vote and vote to drop the rate by 1 cent. Come on Council members. Start by looking out for your boss, the citizens of La Marque.
