LA MARQUE — The La Marque school board of trustees tonight will meet to discuss hiring a new director of the STEM academy and to receive updates on their security provider, among other things.

The school board will meet at 7 p.m. at the La Marque school district boardroom at 1727 Bayou Road.

Trustees will discuss hiring a project director for the Renaissance STEM Academy after the current Principal Denise Simmons left to take a new position at a college, said La Marque Superintendent Terri Watkins.

The trustees have also requested an update on Executive Threat Solution, the company that provides the security officers for the school district and on salary and furlough days of employees, Watkins said.

“What we are trying to provide is updates to the board as we go into the coming school year,” she said.

LMISD has no place to go but up

Robert Buckner

Up or out, maybe they could get all of these illegal alien/unaccompanied kids from Central America to boost their enrollment figures. A new academy "ESL" could be created, a new bilingual after school academy to babysit so you can count them twice. League City would be happy and the LMISD board could don another halo. Trube would have more statements to be recorded causing GDN readers to be doubled depending on Herber's opinion. The possibilities here are endless.....

LOL Robert, first LMISD has to get a Spanish speaking teacher, something they haven't been able to provide to the students of all nationalities in several years.

It seems LMISD just keeps faking it until they make it one day and unfortunately our students are the one's to continue to suffer.

Hopefully after August 8, 2014 the TEA will soon change all of this....[smile]
