LA MARQUE — The city of La Marque was required by the state to send letters to residents letting them know the city was late in sending a water testing report to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The water in the city is safe to drink — the city was late in submitting a quarterly report on chlorine level testing last year, said Mike Morgan, the city’s director of public works.

The report was sent to the commission with the following quarterly report in October, he said.

A letter informing residents of the report was sent out last week and was posted on the city’s website.
