LEAGUE CITY — Three League City police officers were promoted last week to the positions of captain, lieutenant and sergeant.

Capt. Anthony Hera, who is assigned to command the police patrol division, started with the department in 1993. Hera was named officer of the year by the Galveston County Chamber of Commerce in 2001 and served in the U.S. Army for four years.

Lt. Michael Buffington has served with the League City Police Department in a variety of roles, including work as a patrol officer, as a K9 unit supervisor and as a supervisor in the criminal investigation division.

Sgt. Travis Ladd has been a League City police officer for five years, serving as a field trainer and member of the SWAT team, among other things.
