An Alabama couple was killed Saturday in San Leon when a man police accuse of driving drunk plowed into a motorcycle.

A man driving a Chevrolet pickup struck the pair on their motorcycle about 6:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of FM 517, police said.

Emergency responders pronounced Jimmy Jenkins, 43, dead at the scene. Deborah Jenkins, 46, was taken by helicopter to John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, where she died during surgery.

Officials Monday had not disclosed the names of the two killed.

Police used a search warrant to draw a sample of the pickup driver's blood.

George Edward Buckminister III, 47, was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. He was being held Monday in the Galveston County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

Everything else seems to be reported except the death of Joseph Scott, a homeless man killed on Hwy 6 in HItchcock last week...I have called the paper several times to see why this hasn't been reported...you should be ashamed...though homeless many of us took care of this 53 year old man (mentally disabled) and he was killed riding his bicycle after dark to a store. Somebody please explain to us and the family.
