Galveston and Texas City are among 250 jurisdictions participating in the 2018 Great Texas Warrant Roundup.

The roundup is focused on thousands of defendants with delinquent traffic, city ordinance, penal code and other warrants from various jurisdictions.

Municipal Court officials are advising defendants to take advantage of the choices available to resolve outstanding warrants immediately before they are compelled to appear by arrest.

The arrest period began Friday, and officers are seeking out the wanted, officials said. Arrests can take place at any location, including the defendant's residence, school or workplace.

In past years, League City, Dickinson, Santa Fe, Kemah, Friendswood and La Marque have participated in the roundup.
