A Santa Fe teenager was killed in a motorcycle crash on FM 646 on Saturday morning.

At 6:42 a.m., a Santa Fe police officer was flagged down by a person concerned about a crash on the 4000 block of FM 646. The officer investigated and found the motorcycle, and the body of its rider, nearby.

Police identified the man as Cordell Hechler, 17, of Santa Fe.

An initial investigation determined that Hechler was riding north on the road, and lost control before crashing. Police had no witnesses to the crash, and asked anyone who may have information to call the Santa Fe Police Department at 409-925-2000.
