Four people, including a child, were injured when a police chase beginning in Dickinson ended in a two-car crash on state Highway 3 early Sunday morning.

Police tried to stop a 2011 Chevrolet truck about 1:20 a.m. in the 3500 block of state Highway 3 in Dickinson, but the driver fled, officials said.

A 28-year-old man, who police haven't identified, has been charged but has not been arraigned because he's in the hospital, officials said.

The driver of the truck didn’t stop and headed north on the highway, leading officers on a chase that reached speeds of more than 100 mph, officials said.

The chase ended when the truck struck a 2015 Nissan on state Highway 3 just north of Edgebrook Drive in South Houston, officials said.

An adult man and woman and a 9-year-old girl were in the Nissan and were hospitalized with serious injuries, officials said.

Police declined to release names and conditions of the victims Sunday.

Dickinson police are investigating the incident to ensure it follows a department policy that no more than two department vehicles may pursue another vehicle without supervisor approval, officials said.
