A Galveston man was sentenced Friday to four years in prison for sex crimes against a 15-year-old girl.
Jerrome Riches Lee Dominick, 27, pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault of a child and sexual performance of a child as part of a plea agreement, court records show.
Officials with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force tipped off Galveston police to a potential case of child pornography between Dominick and an underage girl, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Police then reviewed a Facebook conversation between the two in which Dominick asked the girl to send him sexually explicit photographs, which she did, according to the affidavit.
The girl told police she had met Dominick at a party and that they had had sex, according to the affidavit.
Dominick will be required to register as a sex offender for life after his release from prison, Assistant District Attorney Tiffany Alfred said.
Dominick will be eligible for parole after serving two years, Alfred said.
