A deadline for people to apply for low-interest disaster recovery loans due to Hurricane Harvey is approaching.

The deadline for people to apply for loans from the Small Business Administration is Oct. 24.

Loans of up to $2 million are available to qualifying businesses that were damaged by Harvey. Homeowners can received up to $200,000 and smaller loans are available to pay for personal property damage for homeowners and renters.

To apply for an SBA loan, people must first fill out a disaster assistance application through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. To register with FEMA, call 800-621-3362 or visit disasterassistance.gov.

As of Oct. 12, the administration had approved more than $1 billion in loans for Harvey victims.
