The motorcyclist killed Tuesday night in a wreck on Seawall Boulevard was identified Wednesday.

Lyn Jac Hall, 39, of Galveston died after the motorcycle he was riding struck a concrete curb in a parking lane on the street.

Hall was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the pavement. He was not wearing a helmet, police said

The cause of death was blunt force trauma, according to the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office.

When I moved to Galveston in the late 1990s, motorcycle helmets were mandatory. A short while later, that law was changed. Why?
My cynical nature belived then, as now, it was to stop the hemmorhage of money required to care for a quad- or paraplegic for a lifetime.
