Authorities on Monday identified a woman killed in a car crash in Galveston early Saturday morning.

Connie Rice, 52, of Galveston, died after the SUV she was riding in was hit by another vehicle traveling the wrong way on Broadway around 1 a.m, according to the Galveston Medical Examiner's Office.

Police initially said that Rice was the driver of the SUV, but later corrected their statement and said she was a passenger.

The 85-year-old driver of the car that hit Rice has not been arrested. Police said the man might have suffered some sort of medical issue before the crash that contributed to him being in the wrong lane. The man has not yet been identified.
