One person was in jail and another in the hospital after a robbery at a Santa Fe pharmacy on Monday.
Officers were called to the Lone Star Pharmacy, 4111 FM 1764, at 2:49 p.m. on Monday because of a possible robbery, the Santa Fe Police Department said in a press release.
The 911 caller told police that a man had jumped over a pharmacy counter and taken several prescriptions that had been prepared for customers. The man then fled the area in a hold-colored car, driven by a second person.
The car was located on the 1400 block of FM 646. Police conducted a traffic stop on Hansen Street, just south of FM 517 and took the two people in the car into custody
Police found medications from the pharmacy in the car, according to the press release.
James Elliot, 30, of Deer Park, was charged with traffic offenses and booked into the Santa Fe jail, police said. A second man, identified as the passenger and "main actor" in the robbery, was to be charged with burglary of a building.
The second man was brought to an area hospital after being arrested to be treated for an overdose. He had ingested several of the medications taken from the pharmacy, police said.
The man's condition was not known as of Tuesday afternoon.
