A memorial service and life celebration will be held Wednesday for Charley DiBella, a Galveston native and well-known restaurateur.

DiBella, 71, died Nov. 7, 2017, after a 4-month illness. Deacon Sam Dell’Olio of Holy Family Parish and the Rev. Ray Pinard of Moody Methodist Church will conduct the service, which will be held at the chapel in the Meridian Retirement Community, 2228 Seawall Blvd. The service will begin at 5 p.m.

Friends are invited to share their thoughts and memories.

DiBella and his wife of 39 years, Joan, owned the midtown restaurant DiBella's for 28 years. It was a gathering place for locals. He is survived by his wife and his brother, Frank.
