A Dickinson man was arrested Wednesday and accused of assaulting his ex-wife and stealing her van, police said.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the 1000 block of 24th Street in San Leon on Jan. 25 to a report of a stolen vehicle, according to an affidavit obtained by The Daily News.

A woman told deputies her ex-husband had assaulted her and stolen her vehicle, according to the affidavit. The man drove around the block twice and then drove away, according to the affidavit.

The woman said she had been walking along 24th Street with another man when she saw her ex-husband walking toward them, according to the affidavit. The man appeared "impaired and was talking crazy," according to the affidavit.

The man and woman got into her van, at which point the ex-husband climbed through the van's window, according to the affidavit.

The ex-husband slapped the woman in the face and shoved her out of the van, according to the affidavit. As he was driving away, he let the other man out of the van, according to the affidavit.

Anthony Garza, 22, of Dickinson, was arrested Wednesday and charged with robbery. He was held on $10,000 bond, according to the affidavit. He was still in custody Thursday in the Galveston County jail.
