A Galveston County man Wednesday was sentenced to 73 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

Lavelas Luckey, 36, had pleaded guilty in October 2017 in the U.S. District Court Southern District of Texas in Galveston to one count of receipt and one count of possession of child pornography in connection to the incident, U.S. Attorney’s Office officials said.

Federal authorities found more than 100 videos and 630 images of child pornography during a search of Luckey’s residence, said Angela Dodge, spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Following Luckey’s release from federal prison, he also will serve 15 years supervised release and will be ordered to register as a sex offender, Dodge said.
