The Galveston Police Department is offering $30,000 to anyone that can provide information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the people who shot a hotel security guard Sunday evening.

Phillip Molis, 23, was shot multiple times in a parking lot behind the San Luis Resort & Spa on Sunday night. Molis, who works as a security guard for the hotel, approached three men in the parking lot before he was shot. Police believe the men may have been breaking into cars before Molis arrived.

Molis was shot at least nine times, but survived. He was still in critical condition Wednesday.

Police staged a manhunt after the shooting, but no one has been arrested and no description of the suspects has been released.

The reward announcement, posted on the Galveston Police Detectives Facebook page, says the money was made available by “generous donors.”
