A 15-year-old Texas City girl was found dead in a city park on Sunday evening.

The girl, a student at Texas City High School, was found in Amburn Park, on the 3900 block of 19th Street North.

Her death is believed to be suicide, Texas City Police Department spokesman Sgt. Kenneth Brown said. The department does not identify suicide victims as a matter of policy, Brown said.

The girl's death is the second suicide to occur in a Texas City park in recent weeks. On Feb. 4, a woman was found dead at Robinson Stadium, a baseball stadium on the 2700 block of 13th Avenue North.

The deaths are unrelated, Brown said.
