Good to know that we brought in the experts from Dallas to assess wind & flood damage and figure out what it will cost to fix it. I have noticed, that with their vast experience in hurricanes, Dallas architects are much better equipped to analyze this type of damage.

Seriously? From Dallas? We have some of the best architects in the United States right here on the Island. Not Dallas Island. Galveston Island. I swear, sometimes it seems like the County and the City just hire "consultants" and "experts" instead of using common sense solutions. But if you Must hire someone to do your job, at least hire locals. That's catchy. Shop local. Hire local.

Where does it say Dallas? I only see Houston-based. Hourly pay is what bothers me.

Bill Cochrane

Diane, you are right. My bad.

Architecture firms are required to be registered with the state of Texas, the registered address for Huitt-Zollar is 1717 McKinney in Dallas, Texas. They could have a branch or a mail drop in Houston. Houston or Dallas, the money is still leaving the County to pay for consultants whose experience with hurricane damage is going to be sadly lacking.
