Ok, stupid question - why is there a 3rd party (Goodman) between the City and the general contractor? Is the city simply incapable of running projects? It's been almost two years since it was possible to bike from 13th to the west end withing being forced into oncoming traffic. I'd never vote for any more 'amenities' based on this abysmal result.
PS - someone has already hit and damaged one of the planter boxes. It will be very interesting to see how many years it takes to get repairs done...

Speaking of planter repairs -- and similar tiny projects -- I wonder if the City has a way to expedite such things by hiring local handymen. My handyman could repair that planter in a few hours for at most a few hundred bucks. I wonder how many small projects are delayed and then overspent because the City has to mobilize a standing army to do the work.

Remember Steve, the city hasn't accepted the work yet. They can't just run out an grab someone off the street to fix the mess at the planter. The contractor is technically in possession of the job and the contractor has to fix it. I know legalities are annoying, but history has shown they are important.

I really meant in general. Of course you're right in this particular case.

Repairs have already begun.

So that would be the second one. Planter at 81st was backed into and repaired back in late summer.
