The Friendswood Independent School District has hired a Houston-based architecture firm for $82,000 to complete a facilities master plan.

The district’s contract with PBK Architects will include an assessment of all of the facilities and schools, including examining whether they are up to state standards, and helping officials develop a long-term master plan, records show.

The facilities master plan will include meetings to determine what buildings should be repaired and creating replacement plans as required, records show.

The scope of work also includes the possibility of PBK Architects facilitating planning for a future bond referendum, but the agreement trustees approved did not include payments for that purpose, records show.

District officials did not respond to requests for comment about the agreement by deadline Tuesday.
