Friendswood police continue to look for leads in a case in which two bank bags and a purse were stolen from a woman at an ATM.
Police reported Wednesday that a restaurant manager was at an ATM drive-thru when a man approached the passenger side of her vehicle, opened the door and stole two bank bags and her purse.
The incident occurred at the Chase Bank in the 200 block of West Parkwood Avenue, police said.
Police said they believe the victim may have been followed, either from the restaurant to her first stop at another bank or from the first bank to her second stop at Chase Bank.
A witness saw a white sedan with temporary license plates pulled up to the curb of a grassy median that separates the H-E-B gas station from Chase Bank, police said. The witness said the sedan’s passenger, described as a young black man wearing a gray hoodie, got out of the white sedan, approached the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle at the Chase drive-thru ATM, opened the door and grabbed the bank bags and purse, police said.
He ran back to the sedan, which was driven by another black man wearing a multicolored hoodie, the police said.
