From the sounds of it the money situation was not good before the storm yet the reporter makes it sound as if it did at the beginning of the story....Something doesn't smell right about this story.... If tax sales were going down by that much I would think that someone in our city government would have noticed that far less money was coming in and try to find out why.... From what the article stated this has been going on for at least a couple of years....
I don't think Matt Degrood intended to blame Harvey for the financial problems in Hitchcock. It just came out that way. Hitchcock's financial trouble are older than that but Harvey added to them.
Yes, they are and they seem to not be able to solve them....
If the sales tax revenue to going down and hurting the city, what will they think will happen when all of the homes that have been hurt by Harvey have their values drop like a rock....
