The first full day of Mardi Gras festivities kicked off in Galveston on Saturday, February 18, 2017 with numerous parades featuring costumed revelers, colorful beads and live music. The annual celebration will continue until Fat Tuesday on February 28th.
The 2017 Mardi Gras season kicked off with the annual Mainland Mardi Gras Parade in Texas City on Saturday. The event, presented by the Rotary Club of Texas City, featured numerous decorated floats complete with beads and candy. Mardi Gras in Galveston will begin on February 17.
Festivities continued Thursday at the George R. Brown Convention in advance of Super Bowl LI. Guests at the NFL Experience were able to participate in numerous interactive events, purchase memorabilia and see many of their favorite current and former players.
Super Bowl LI halftime show performer Lady Gaga and National Anthem singer Luke Bryan met with the media on Thursday to discuss their upcoming performances at the big game on Sunday.
