Dickinson Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying a male involved in a shooting on Friday, January 22, 2016 at about 2:30 am. The shooting occurred at the Shell Station located along the south bound feeder road of IH45 at FM 517. The suspect was fueling a black four door Mercedes at the gas pumps. The victim, driving a green Chevrolet pickup truck, pulled into the station and made a purchase at the station’s store. When the victim returned to his truck, he and the suspect exchanged some words. The suspect entered his car and as he began to drive away, he pointed a silver handgun towards the victim and fired at least four times, striking the victim’s truck. The victim was not injured. The truck sustained significant damage to the radiator and engine. The suspect was last seen driving south onto IH45 feeder road. Officers recovered .40 caliber shell casings from the scene. The victim said he did not know the actor and described him as a male black. Detectives were able to recover surveillance video from the business security cameras. Anyone with information about the actor or the vehicle is asked to contact Dickinson Police Department Sergeant John Lopez at 281-337-6335.

A 12-year-old Houston girl was presumed drowned after she went missing in surf near 57th Street and Seawall Boulevard on Thursday. Officials said the Houston Kipp Academy charter school student was on a field trip with about 20 classmates, when she went missing around 3 p.m. Rescuers ended their search around 8:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, May 27, NOAA, the Houston Zoo and Moody Gardens partnered to release 50 sea turtles on Stewart Beach in Galveston. Despite rainy weather, dozens of onlookers showed up to watch the release. Most of turtles released on Wednesday were brought to Galveston from Massachusetts last November. The turtles had been stunned by the cold waters off Cape Cod and were brought to NOAA’s Galveston Sea Turtle to be treated and recuperate.
