The Galveston Island Humane Society pets of the week are Brian and Matthew.

Brian is a 3-year-old, black and white retriever mix with soulful eyes and a million dollar smile. He is smaller than your typical retriever, weighing 35 pounds. He is well-mannered, but still fun and playful. He knows basic commands and is eager to please. Brian’s ideal home consists of a loving family, a yard to play in and a toy box full of squeaky toys.

Matthew is an 8-month-old kitten with a velvety, black coat; and his golden yellow eyes compliment him so well. He is one of the sweetest cats you will ever meet. His sole desire is to love and to be loved. He enjoys sitting in your lap while you pet him. As you pet him, he will purr loudly and “make biscuits” and beg for more affection. Matthew is representing all the black cats waiting for a home. You may adopt any solid black cat this week for $10!

Note: The shelter will be closed Monday for cleaning and inventory. We will reopen at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

All cat and dog adopters get a free tag with each adoption, be sure to ask. Adoptions include the spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, current vaccinations and a month of pet insurance. These featured pets have an adoption sponsor allowing the adoption fee of $25 for this week only!
