The Galveston Island Humane Society pets of the week are Esteban and Thumper.
Esteban is a 4-year-old black and tan chihuahua with big, perky ears and a slick, short coat. He is approximately 8 pounds so he will be comfortable in a house, condo, or apartment and will make the perfect lap dog and companion. He enjoys short brisk walks, Pup-Peroni and playing fetch; but above all he enjoys human interaction. He gets along well with other dogs and would blend in beautifully with most families.
Thumper is a 9-month-old kitten with a thick, fluffy coat and wispy ear tuffs. He is white with patches of brown fur and tabby markings. Thumper is young, sweet, playful and cute as a button. He loves to run, jump and chase anything that moves. An ideal home would consist of a loving family and a feline playmate to keep him company. He is the purrfect pet! Come see for yourself.
The 20th annual Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Mardi Gras Pet Parade will be at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 11. Register your pets to walk in the parade, or purchase “A Cat’s Eye View” viewing party balcony tickets. Both can be done on our website or at the shelter.
All cat and dog adopters get a free tag with each adoption. Adoptions include the spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, current vaccinations and a month of pet insurance. These featured pets have an adoption sponsor allowing the adoption fee of $25 for this week only!
