The Galveston Island Humane Society pets of the week are Paxton and Ling.

Paxton is a 9-month-old, black and white kitten with a pink, heart-shaped nose. She is shy at first, but once she warms up to you she is friendly and loving. She also likes to play, pounce and do all the cute things that kittens like to do. She enjoys cuddling with her littermate, Poe. They were part of an unwanted litter and surrendered to the shelter in September. Paxton is waiting for her “purr-fect” owners to come and take her home.

Ling is a 9-month-old pit bull mix with a short, smooth, ash-brown coat. She is the perfect medium size weighing about 45 pounds. Ling is a super sweet and active young pup looking for her forever home. She knows basic commands, walks well on a leash and loves to chase her tail! Come meet the adorable girl!

The holidays are nearing! Santa will be available for photos with your pets and two-legged family from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Tom’s Thumb Nursery. Also, keep an eye out for adoption specials and shelter events. Maybe you can have your new best friend home for the holidays! Gift certificates are also available.

Come by the shelter or check the website to view and visit our family! All adoptions include the spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, current vaccinations and a month of pet insurance. These featured pets have an adoption sponsor allowing the adoption fee of $25 for this week only!
